Who are the friends of lost sierra community activities (FOLSCA)?

The “Lost Sierra” is one of California’s best kept secrets.

Unfortunately, that means government, private, foundation, corporate, and other grant funding rarely enter our communities; which results in underfunded schools, minimal youth programs, and low attendance at community activities.

That is where FOLSCA tries to make a difference.

We are a group of Lost Sierra locals with over 25 years experience within the worlds of grant reporting and writing, donation solicitation, program organization, youth mentorship, financial reporting, fundraising event hosting, and lots of other skills that can benefit the community of the Lost Sierra.

Our mission is critical for our community, and we need your help!

FOLSCA’s mission is to elevate the impact of Lost Sierra’s community activities, with a strong emphasis on youth engagement. We are committed to fostering inclusive environments where people can thrive through meaningful programs that promote personal growth, community connection, and lasting positive outcomes.

Our current areas of focus include:

  • Youth Program Enhancement & Scholarships

  • Art & Music Program Enhancement & Scholarships

  • Community Program Enhancement & Curation

FOLSCA is run 100% by volunteers.

We all have jobs outside of this organization and are not looking for a salary from FOLSCA. There are, however, administrative costs associated with software, website hosting, merchant fees, and other items, so donations to our general fund are greatly appreciated to cover these administrative costs, but NEVER a salary.
